The 2017 Brit Awards are going down today and in addition to featuring big awards and even bigger performances from stars like Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Little Mix, Robbie Williams, The 1975, Skepta and Emelie Sande, the Brit Awards also include a lot of love. Awwww.

Yesterday, Ed Sheeran stopped by the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform four of his own songs, including his singles “Castle On The Hill” and “Shape of You” (watch here). Keeping with the Live Lounge tradition, Sheeran also performed a cover song, paying homage to fellow Brit Award performers Little Mix with a cover of their song “Touch.” This performance gave Sheeran the chance to declare once and for all that yes, he is a Little Mixer. Cue the fangirling.

Next up was Katy Perry sitting down with BBC host Nick Grimshaw early this morning to talk about her Brit Awards performance. Well, that was initially the plan, but the interview was quickly crashed by Sheeran, giving Perry the opportunity to ‘thank’ Ed for keeping her song “Chained To The Rhythm” from the top spot on the charts. It was a two finger thanks.

The pair hilariously recounted the first times they heard each others’ music (Ed was drunk), their first time meeting (it was sweaty) and their first Brit Awards (a very sick Katy was saved by Natalie Imbruglia).

Sheeran and Perry also discussed their recent Grammy performances, as well as what they have planned for today’s Brit Awards. There’s going to be a surprise during Ed’s performance. We can’t wait.

Ed Sheeran and Katy Perry weren’t the only Brit Awards performers to stop by the BBC. Earlier this week, fellow Brit Award performer and frontman for The 1975, Matthew Healy, talked about his desire to work with Skepta, who is also performing at today’s show.
